From August 23-29, 2026, CVSA-certified inspectors across North America are conducting enhanced brake system inspections as part of Brake Safety Week, with a special focus on brake drums and rotors this year. Inspectors are also evaluating critical brake system components including brake hoses, tubing, air brake systems, and related mechanical parts.
During inspections, officials are looking for:
✅ Brake hose and tubing chafing, cracks, leaks, and improper routing
✅ Visible damage, excessive wear, rust, or cracks in drums and rotors
✅ Air leaks and proper air brake system operation
✅ Worn or damaged slack adjusters, brake chambers, pushrods, linings, and pads.
