Marking hay baler's hydraulic hoses stops game of chance on farms

Hay season is like playing a game of chance, you just never know what is going to happen with the weather and that in itself is stressful and frustrating. So why wouldn’t you make a small investment with Outback Wrap on your farm to help reduce the frustrations you feel during hay season?
“If you want it to rain, you better cut some hay”
It never seems to fail, the day you decide to cut hay…rain isn’t too far behind. It’s like the universe knows you waited until the perfect day to get your 1st maybe 2nd or if you’re lucky your 3rd cutting of hay but if you’re like us here in the good ole’ state of South Dakota that means rain is likely on the horizon...or worst…the wind!
Hay season is like playing a game of chance, you just never know what is going to happen with the weather and that in itself is stressful and frustrating. So why wouldn’t you make a small investment with Outback Wrap on your farm to help reduce the frustrations you feel during hay season?
Outback Wrap is designed to do just that. Outback Wrap is a hydraulic hose marker that is used as an identification system for farming equipment that uses hydraulics. It can be used on your baler, sickle mower, your rake or any of your haying equipment that uses hydraulic hoses.
"Your baler only has four hoses and you don’t need wraps to know which is which". Think again!
Alright I know, I know—what if your baler only has four hoses and you don’t need wraps to know which is which? Well think again! I took some Outback Wrap to my brother-in-law to put on his baler before he started baling one morning and he unhooked the hydraulics and I handed him the wraps and the first thing out of his mouth was “ohhh fuuuuudge”, only he didn’t say “fuuuudge”—sidebar: if you have ever spent Christmas Eve watching “A Christmas Story”, you’ll appreciate that reference:)
Anyways back to my story, after he unhooked the hoses he had to think for a minute to hook them back up correctly...and I said to him “SEE! This is why you need Outback Wrap!” Right then and there he agreed with me and decided to wrap his other haying equipment.
The way the equipment gets hooked up varies depending on the operator.
Now let’s talk about your operation. How many balers do you have? Does the same person run the same baler each time? Do you like to take turns at who rakes and who bales? These questions all play a huge role in your need for Outback Wrap. On the farm my husband works at they have multiple balers and rakes. In the baler, my husband prefers to have #1 forward pressure to close the door and back pressure to open it. #3 forward pressure to put the pickup down and back pressure to lift it up. The way the equipment gets hooked up varies depending on the operator.
Now what happens when you send your hired man out to do the baling? Your hired man grew up is whole life using #1 back pressure to close the door and forward pressure to open it AND instead of using #3 at all he uses #2 forward pressure to put the pickup down and back pressure to lift it up. Not only could he potentially open the baler door and kick out bales prematurely, he might not be able to lift the pickup quick enough if he encounters an obstacle. In these situations he is going to get frustrated and annoyed and this learning curve for him is going to cost YOU time and money.
We CAN “Make Hooking Up Easy”.
If all of the hoses were marked the same every time, it wouldn’t matter who was operating the equipment, at some point everyone will be on the same page as how the hydraulic hoses are connected to the ports. So you can see having Outback Wrap is beneficial whether you have a one man operation or have multiple people working. Whether you have one baler or five. Outback Wrap is here to make your hay season frustration free when it comes to your hydraulic hose identification. Although we can’t stop the wind or rain…we CAN “Make Hooking Up Easy”.
